Surfing in Blur (2021) is an ongoing perceptual study of desire-inducing images in a digital environment, suggesting that shimmering objects and eye-catching displays lead to lethargy.
Surrounded by high-resolution technology, streaming endless information, it's not certain when a clear image or a clearly written text is sharp, and when it becomes blurry. Through a series of publications capturing the moment of blurriness in several different ways, Surfing in Blur stands as an expression of capacity, potentiality and tendency. The collection of images from different sources together form a space of possibility.

무한한 정보를 스트리밍하는 고해상도 기술로 둘러쌓인 현실에서, 선명한 이미지나 명확하게 쓰여진 텍스트의 선명도와 흐릿함의 경계가 가끔 모호하게 느껴진다. Surfing in Blur는 여러 방식을 통해 이미지의 흐릿한 순간들을 포착함으로써 이를 통해 능력, 잠재력 및 경향에 대해 질문을 던진다. 서로 다른 이미지가 함께 합쳐지고, 또 분리되는 과정에서 가능성의 공간이 생성된다.

Lim Kwon’s praxis in graphic design centers on the coded essence of language and seeks to dismantle the fears and desires surrounding it. It results in the work that either resonates or remains dissonant and confused, depends on the individual reader. She studied visual communication at Hongik University and is currently studying graphic design at Gerrit Rietveld Academie.

권경림의 그래픽 작업은 언어의 코드화된 본질에 초점을 맞추고 그것을 둘러싼 두려움과 욕망을 해체하고자 한다. 그리고 그 결과물은 개별 독자에 따라 공감하거나 불협화음과 혼란으로 남을 수 있다. 홍익대학교에서 시각디자인을 전공하고 현재는 헤릿 리트벨트 아카데미에서 그래픽 디자인을 공부하고 있다.
